I didn't know uncle skippy that well considering the length of time he was my uncle, but, from what my cousin mary has shared over the years he was a loving, practical man who was fearless, and solid, her dad. I always remember him being very matter of fact in discussion which I can appreciate now, more than at twelve. he also was "cool" in letting Mary and I take a solo ride to the gallery to see Ghost Busters by ourselves at ten and twelve years old. I will never forget the time he came out to Mary's party and very "chill like" laid down the law. I think she was turning 16 and he just handled it. Uncle Skipoy was a hipster dad before they existed.
