John made me laugh during a difficult time in my life and he was always there to help. He lit up the ED with his energy. We shared an EMS bond that we knew we both understood and could talk about to each other. I will miss that and his love of life.

I am just at a loss for words and numb inside. A little over 16 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a young man named John Mood. I remember when he graduated high school, EMT school. And later went onto the fire academy.John had moved on and went to work in the ER at Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden then onto Virtua Hospital in Berlin. John had also volunteered with Blackwood Ambulance when he was younger as well as Waterford Twp EMS in recent years. And sadly we had lost contact with one another. I would only see him when I went into the ER. Then I learned he had gotten married less than 2 yrs ago. And this week I have learned that John has been called home. At just 34 yrs young in this short time on Earth he has touched so many people in so many ways. And the countless number of people he has helped. I can still hear him calling me "Cow Poke or Boots" and yes there is a funny story behind those names. I am just sorry I didn't stay in touch with John more than what I did. To John's wife I am sorry for your loss and to John’s family I am sorry for the loss of John, Thank You for raising such a wonderful young man. John was such a wonderful person in so many ways, and he will be missed by many.
John If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane. We would walk right up to heaven, and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken. No time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it. And only God knows why. Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you. No one will ever know. But now we know you want us, to mourn for you no more. To remember all the happy times, life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today a cherished place within our heart is where you'll always stay. May John Rest in Peace now, for he will NEVER Be Forgotten!!! I have found a song by Rodney Carrington entitled "Angel Friend" and John is our Angel Friend!!!!!!

I still can't believe you are gone. I am waiting for you to pop up at my desk with some hilarious story, or come running down the hall when a code gray is called! You were such a button pusher but not in a malicious way and I don't think anyone could ever stay mad at you, you were just too funny and good hearted. Virtua Berlin has definitely lost a piece of the family, and I have lost a friend. You will never be forgotten, see you on the other side! Make sure you keep an eye on us. -Meesh

My mind just cannot accept this tragedy! I cannot accept that I will never hear his teasing and joking or see his endless energy and smile. NO ONE can replace John and I am so glad that he "made a baby"-his legacy to the world that remains here even though he could not stay.

I can't remember a moment spent with you where you didn't make me smile. I have to say I never met anyone who enjoyed life more than you, John. My heart is breaking for Cathy and your family. To lose you now... is devastating for them. God is the only one who knows the reason. But just like you always left behind something to smile about, once again, you left the biggest smile of all. Your precious child will be born and I'm sure that baby will be just as endearaing as you were. We're gonna miss you, John.

Their are some people that you meet in life that leave a lasting impression, John Mood was one of those people. I am still in disbelief that you will not be here to endlessly tease me or prank call me from across the nurses station. You made people laugh and lighten up and you will be missed. May you always keep a watchful eye over your family and friends and deter the 1:1's, if possible :)

John was one of the most amazing people I've ever met. He constantly put others before himself. He protected us from harm and made us laugh every time he was around. John, you will be missed more than you can imagine. I will do my best to keep spirits high at work for you, but nothing wil be able to replace the joy you gave us every day. I cannot say goodbye. I will see you later in a better place. We will take good care of Cathy and the baby for you. We will keep your memory alive with all of the awesome stories you helped to create. Rest in peace, my friend. :)
