John Mood

Obituary of John C. Mood

There are those who, when they pass away, our whole world seems smaller. That moment came suddenly, in the evening on Sunday September 9, 2012. After just 34 years John C. Mood was gone before we knew it. John, If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. Some die without having really lived, while others continue to live, inspite of the fact they have died. John, all the world will smile, for you were here. The gifts you brought we'll all hold them dear. John was a lover of life who had an exuberant, infectious and playful charisma. He was a tough little firecracker who loved to joke and "bust 'em". John was dedicated to his family, his friends, volunteers and patients. He had a natural attraction that just brought people together. John, your spirit dances in our minds, our hearts and our soul. John was born in Philadelphia, PA and was raised in Blackwood before moving to Atco. He was a "gamer" who loved competition, sports and the outdoors. John graduated from Highland High School and earned a scholarship to the University of Delaware as a hockey player. He volunteered as an EMT and firefighter at Blackwood Ambulance Squad 87 and Blackwood Fire Co. Station 84 along side his dad. "Big Mood". More recently, John volunteered at Waterford Twp. EMS Squad 23 and worked as an E.R. technician and EMT at Virtua Hospital in Berlin. At home he was almost attached to his video games spending countless hours playing with his nephew Spencer. On the ice he was unbeatable, especially in goal and out in the woods he was tearing it up either on his quad or paintballing. Remember the joy, the laughter and the smiles. John's only gone to rest a little while. John will fondly be remembered as a husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his expecting wife of 2 years Catherine Mood (nee carter) and is the son of John & Eileen (nee Mican) Mood. John is also survived and will be sadly missed by his sisters Tricia & her husband C.J. Summa, Sandra & her husband Vito Fruggiero, his faithful companions Missy & Lola as well as his nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends Relatives and friends are invited to join the Mood family to remember John, celebrate his playful charisma and pay tribute to a husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle and friend who has left us, far too soon, on Friday morning between 10 am and 12 pm at the funeral home where a memorial and remembrance ceremony will begin at 12 pm, Pastor Verne Morin, officiating. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Flyers wives fight for lives C/O Comcast-Spectator Foundation, Wells Fargo Center 3601 S. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19148 or to the family for his un-born child's college fund C/O the funeral home P.O. Box 297 Atco, NJ 08004.
