Obituary of Lorraine R Potts

Lorraine K. Potts (nee Conlon), of Hammonton NJ age 77yrs., reunited on January 17, 2013 with her beloved husband Elwood Potts, who preceded her in death in October 2008. She passed with her children and five cats by her side. Cherished mother of Judith Richardson (Dennis), Beth Comunale (Bruce), Deborah Clifton (Slater), Barbara, Christopher (Heather), and Cheryl (Dan). Loving mother of the late William. Dedicated mother in law to Carol. Very special friend to Juanita. Loving mother and matriarch of a devoted family that included nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her never-ending love and nurturing character also expanded the family tree to include numerous rescued pets. Lorraine was born on September 3, 1935 in Philadelphia PA. She was the second of three children born to parents Thomas and Catherine Conlon (nee Kelly) and enjoyed the companionship of her sister Joanne and brother Thomas. Lorraine was the constant maternal figure in the Potts family, as was evident in her late-in-life career of being a nanny to numerous children. Her patience and constant love resulted in a legacy of compassion carried forward by her children, both biological and spiritual. Later in her life, she enjoyed simple pleasures at her home. Sunday dinners and special moments shared with her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her week. She maintained her independence and desire to care for everyone up through her passing. The Potts family wants to extend its sincere thanks to Lighthouse Hospice for enabling Lorraine’s passing to be done with peace and dignity in her own home. Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine’s viewing on January 23, 2013 from 9:30am to 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish/St. Joseph’s Church, 220 N. 3rd St., Hammonton NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton NJ. Arrangements are under the directions of the LeROY P.
