Obituary of George Allan Whitfield

George Allan Whitfield, age 73, of Stratford, NJ, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday June 7, 2018. He is the beloved husband of Clarissa Whitfield (nee Smith). Loving father of Charlotte Clarke (Debra Martin), Crystal Clarke, Venessa Rouse (Wendell), and Valerie Whitfield. Proud grandfather of Mekhi Clarke, Cameron Dandridge, Amber Rouse, Wendell Rouse Jr., Justin Rouse, William Vera, Julian Vera, Audrina Vera, and Hailey Booth; adoptive grandfather of Liam Andell and Nicholas Booth. Dear brother of Leroy Whitfield, Vivian Freeman (George), and Lucille Rodgers (Carlton). He is also survived and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. George was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leroy Whitfield and Rushia Bell Foster. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He went on to work for Septa in Philadelphia for many years, retiring in 2006. George enjoyed fishing, race cars, eating crabs, going to the casinos and buffets in Atlantic City, and spending time with his retired Septa family. Viewing will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, where a celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am, followed by military honors. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
