Obituary of Grace Gentile

Grace Gentile (nee Appalucci) age 86 of Atco, NJ died Sunday after a short illness. Grace was a native of Atco and a former Atco Elementary School teachers aide. Grace also worked as a seamstress at the Kessler Garment Shop in Hammonton, NJ until it officially closed in the late 1970s. During her 40 years at Kessler, Grace helped design numerous styles of clothing for men and women. Graces work was purchased by notable personalities such as former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Greg Luzinski and in the mid 1970s Grace helped design and create apparel made for President Gerald Ford. Grace will certainly be remembered for more than workplace accomplishments. Always a humble woman, Grace was never boastful or showy in regard to material goods. However, her awe-inspiring family pride was self-explanatory to anyone who knew her. She always said that her lifes greatest accomplishments were her husband (Joe) and the Kids. (A term which she would later call her grandchildren) Grace dedicated her life and its goals to the ones she loved. She found constant enjoyment within her family circle and was surrounded by them up until her final moments. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Loving mother of Joseph A. Gentile and his wife Joan of Waterford, NJ, Barbara Morici and her husband Nicholas of Atco, NJ and the late Joan Gentile. Proud grandmother of Joseph P. Gentile, Nicholas Morici, Matthew Gentile and Monica Morici. Sister of Albert Appalucci and his wife Christina of Atco and the late Pasquale Appalucci, Frank Appalucci, Josephine Tedesco, Mildred Albano, John Appalucci, Rose Arena and James Appalucci. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, from 9:00am to 10:45am at the Assumption RC Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Gentile may be sent to Alzheimers Assoc., 11000 Lincoln Dr.West, Suite 7, Marlton, NJ 08053.
