Obituary of Zoretta A. Lindenlaub

On October 7, 2009 of Vineland, NJ age 92yrs. A caring and loving person who shared her talents and laughter with her family and many friends. She enjoyed 65 years of wonderful marriage to Charlie. As a young woman, she became one of Vineland's first female entrepreneurs, opening "Zoretta's Beauty Salon" in the 1930's. During World War II, she traveled throughout the US working at several Army Bases where Charlie was stationed. Their son was born in Louisville, KY the eve before Charlie's deployment to Europe in 1944. Zoretta later was employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Hyman, a teacher's aide in Vineland's South street School and a credit evaluator for Sears. She also managed the Merchant Green Stamp stores in Vineland and Cherry Hill and also worked in the accounting dept at Kessler Hosp. for several years. Zoretta was very active in the Scared Heart Church in Vineland and served as an officer in the school's PTA. She also donated much of her time as a Girl Scout leader and supported many charitable organizations. Zoretta and Charlie relocated to Elmtowne Village where they thoroughly enjoyed 25 years. She was constantly making her wonderful escarole soup and whiskey cakes for neighbors and elderly shut ins. She became very active in ST/ Anthony's Church in Waterford and the Women's Club. Among Zoretta's many loves were entertaining and spending time with her family and friends, singing, dancing, sewing, taking lone walks, doing arobics and attending daily Mass. In offering her smile, she in turn became a "smile" for so many people. Zoretta is the beloved wife of the late Charles G. Lindenlaub. Devoted mother of Charles J. Lindenlaub of Columbus and June M. Okamoto and her husband Richard of Vineland. She is also survived by her sister and brother in laws, Max & Rita Lindenlaub and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, 11:00am at the St. Isidore RC Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland, NJ. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am, at the Church. The interment will be private. Donations to the New Jersey Veterans Home, 524 North West Blvd., Vinland, NJ 08360 or to the Lighthouse Hospice, 1040 Kings Hwy N # 100, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 would be appreciated.
