Obituary of Jane A. Pope

Jane A. Pope (nee Coonelly) On May 13, 2006, of Waterford Works, NJ formerly a resident of Moorestown, N.J., and Philadelphia, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 13, 1925. Beloved wife for 57 years to John M. Pope. She is a loving mother to John M. Pope and his wife Helene of Warminster, PA, MaryJane Pope-Albin of Princeton, WV, James J. Pope and his wife Joan of Waterford, NJ, the late Frank X. Pope and his surviving wife Valerie Smith-Pope and the late Florence Pope-Hartman and her surviving husband Joseph. Sister of Joseph Coonelly of Springfield, PA, Thomas Coonelly of Philadelphia, PA, Gerard Coonelly of Upper Darby, PA, the late Marie Fretz, the late John Coonelly, the late Helen Hilbert and the late Frank Coonelly. Devoted grandmother of Andrew, Rebecca, Timothy, Lorin, Kimberly, Kendra, Sarah, William, Kaitlin, Ryan, Daniel, John, Moira, Mary and Derek. Jane received her RN from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and her BSN from Trenton State College. She began her nursing career at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital continuing as a School Nurse at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, and Moorestown Senior High School. Jane retired in 1989. Her love of nursing continued throughout her life as evidenced by her lifelong professional membership with the New Jersey Nursing Association and CONTACT support communication. She believed in family; compassion; education; she was devoted to prayer. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday from 10:00am to 11:30am at St. Anthonys RC Church, 450 Pennington Ave., Waterford, NJ, 08089. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jane to the Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr. Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 would be appreciated by the family.
