My opinion and thanks to J. Laughlin
We all want to thank you for following up on the Camden county jail and the recent suicide of Christopher Miller. We hope that you will stay on this until answers are given and the county cleans up their act. Our society is not helping with people in need of help. They get thrown in a cage like an animal. Christopher reached out for help only to be ignored and snared at. This was a senseless death in an over crowded system. This was neglect and unforgiving on the part of the Camden county jail facilities. Four men to a single cell! In this small cell, how many beds? Why did he have to lie on the floor in urine? This violates the rights and fair treatment to offenders. Knowing of Christopher’s recent history I feel his rights were violated from the minute he entered the building. With his history he should have never been taken off of suicide watch-who decided this? Why were his pleas so ignored? Is this staff in Camden county jail professionals, are they certified and licensed or even trained? Do they have 24-hour coverage with licensed physicians nurses or just a bunch of aides to cover the needs? What is the story here? I feel it is time the NJ state representative, including the governor of NJ, get their priorities in order and take a good look at what is going on within the Camden County System and begin by checking credentials, licenses and getting adequate employees within the facility. If it was one of their families or loved ones, you had better believe that they would have made changes along time ago. Maybe our politicians should do some research on the Correction Department in Orlando, Florida. Check out their facility, their visions, their missions and core values. This is a paragraph from their web sight.
"We operate the 15th largest jail system in the United States with more than 1,600 employees including nearly 1,000 certified correction officers. In the U.S. there are more than 3,600 jails. The professionalism of our officers and staff has allowed us to become one of the approximately 130 jails to achieve national accreditation from the American Correctional Association.
The mission of the Orange County Corrections Department is to serve and protect the public through the maintenance of safe and secure facilities while providing services to victims and working in partnership with community providers who offer performance-driven programs to inmates."
Come on NJ, get together and get help for these addicted people, when under the influence they do irrational things, they are helpless and in need. Pay attention to these needs, as a 30-day treatment is just not enough to clean someone up. Our politicians have got to pay attention and society has got to help more. Get the drug dealers off the street and CLEAN UP CAMDEN, as we all know where these drugs come from. As part of punishment, takes all these drug dealers to the funerals of people who’s life has been destroyed by drugs and substance abuse and let them feel and see the pain and emotions of the family and friends left behind.
The hearts of Christopher’s family and friends that knew the real “Kip are broken and the empty spot will remain there. They have to hold on to all the good memories of KIP, the real KIP, the one everyone knew and loved and had so many good qualities. Somewhere in the last couple of years his life changed, but it is obvious he was reaching out to turn his life around.
He was trying, but our system failed him. Let us pray that his cry for help will not be left unheard, but will help to provide the proper treatment, help and environment to others.
Don’t violate the rights or the fair treatment to offenders. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes and need help. This could have been one of your children or loved ones. They are all one of God’s people, they are someone’s child, loved one, or friend, they are human and do deserve the right and a chance to turn their life around.
Our deepest sympathy to the family and may Kip know he will always be deeply loves and missed.

For Kip, Why God? Why? Is there an answer that will help to ease the pain. We loved him and we are all suffering from this heartbreak. Never in God's name did we think his life would end this way. He really was a good person, and was suffering and trying to deal with his losses and his mistakes. These mistakes were not the real Kip. For his life to end this way, Why? Why? He had so much to offer, so much love to give and we all worshipped him and his friendship. He showed everyone Gods path, but why was that path cut so short for this wonderful person?
Why?
All we can say is that you are now safe in God's keep and may you rest in peace. Kip, you are loved and you will be so deeply missed by everyone you touched during your life, but never forgotten.
God Bless you

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me.
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an Angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand, and said my place was ready, in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye, for all life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, so much yet to do, it seems almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile, I'd say goodbye and kiss you and and maybe see you smile. When I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you". You have been so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things, you knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free. So won't you take my hand and share my life with me? So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me,I'm right here, in your heart.
To the Miller Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Alway, Chris Enright

Kip,
You will be so missed by everyone as you touched so many hearts with love, friendship, understanding and respect. You were there for everyone, through the stormy days and sunny days. No matter what everyone could count on you, KIP.
You took on the fear and sadness of life situations and tried to make things perfect for everyone and most of the time you did. We thank God for everything you did, but somehow some of the burden of pain and sadness was overwhelming for you and your strength so God took you home to ease this pain and suffering. May you rest in peace and always know that you were loved by everyone you touched.
To the family of KIP
We, the Williams family, offer our deepest sympathy in the loss of such a special person. God will be there to try to make you understand and to heal the broken hearts. He will let you know the peace that Kip is now feeling.
We had the honor of meeting Kip on many occassions through our grandson, Bob and his fiancee, Ashley.
We felt his warmth, love and respect whenever he was in our presence and yes his beautiful smile. There was always a handshake for men and a kiss for the woman. His love, respect and admiration touched our lives and his handshake and kiss will always remain within our hearts. We do not know why things happens the way they do, there are no answers. We do know that Kip was deeply loved by everyone he touched and will always be remembered for him being Kip, the real KIP loved by all. He left behind a legacy of a smile with hope, love, admiration, and affection.
May God Bless all of you.

Kip...even though I didn't know you from day one..I had the honor of meeting you through my brothers Brandon, Shawn and Steve. Even though i didnt know much about you, and you me, what i did get to know about you was that you were a breath taking honorable man who might not have taken his own advise at times when it came down to it but was always there to give advise when someone felt as though they were at the end of their rope. At times those that you have helped took your advise trusting you all the way knowing that you would not steer them wrong. Now we have just a memory of you to live on carrying the hopes and dreams of all those you have helped. Kip copuld always make you laugh and make you forget about all of your problems, and even if it was just for a minute,it was great. A couple of things everyone knows about Kip,is how damn HYPER he was and how he drove like he was in a nascar race, But the close people in his life knows that he is the definition of a BESTFRIEND. This town is like a horrible soap opera, and I know people have heard this crap and that crap about Kip,some of its probably true and some of it is lies and exageration, but regardless lets remember KIP for KIP, and not for his bad times. And to Mrs.Miller, Dale, Brandon, Adam, and Jay keep your heads up and be strong for Kip. And know that Kip is no longer suffering, He is in heaven right now with his very bestfriend, Ryan. To me Kip was, and always will be, like a little Brother. From my earliest memories of him with his squeeky 'lil voice to picking him as my Freshman/Senior buddy in High School, to hanging out goofing off and getting into big conversations about nothing in particular, I will hold all of that in my heart forever. He without a doubt was and still is a Great Kid and a Great Friend. Knowing that I could not help him enough at his weakest times is something I will have to live with for the rest of my days, and in these days I will keep his memory and spirit alive and well through thoughts words and actions.
I know Kip, Zeke, Brian and all of our family and friends who have gone before us will continue to watch over and take care of us just like they did when they walked this earth. People like that don't just die, they live on forever.

We Shall Meet Again
If I should leave this world
Without a warning,
And not even whisper a fond farewell,
Grieve not for one more message
From the lips that God has stilled.
But just remember me with love
And prayers for my soul's journey
To that fair land beyond life's tears.
For I have believed with all my heart
In its existence, and I know that
God is good, for He has come to me
Through the life of Him whose very
Garment I have sought to touch.
It may be lonely, and I hope you miss me
Just a little, because I have loved so deeply
Forgive me if I have ever hurt you
And remember me for what I longed to be.
Have faith that I am nearer than
Your dreams and fondest longings.
For the God of love shall keep all
Kindred spirits close together,
Though the misty vale between
This world and that to come
Keeps us from each other's sight
For a few precious moments.
Whisper softly that you love me
And it shall linger on within my soul
Until you come.
Say not good-bye,
For on some bright tomorrow
We shall meet again.

this experience has opened my mind to realize how precioud our time is with each other. i regret to have fallen out of touch with chris and regret not siezing the opportunity i had to see him again. please remember to be sorry if you ever didn't return a phone call fast enough - sorry
if you belittle anyone's pain at any point in your friendships - sorry
if ever made someone feel that they were never good enough and sorry
that you don't keep in touch as well as you know you could. love your friends as
much as you did the last time you saw them - love them for who they are and
all they have done for you - love your family as the pillars
of strength in the hard times that they are, and as the greatest people you will ever
know - love your friends, the ones who laughe at your jokes when
they were obviously not very funny, for hugging you even when you both
know how much you needed a shower, and for putting up with all of your
"moments" of self-doubt and confusion. promise to say a prayer for them everyday in hopes that their lives will
never cease too soon and that you never have to say that you "knew" them.
instead, celebrate their existence in your life and how much they all mean to you. i'll miss you, chris, and i'll treasure everything i have learned from knowing you. thank you for being a part of my life and allowing me to share in a part of your.

I don't know where to begin. You were one of my first friends I've ever had. When we were about 6, you, Mike Graff, and Chris Catania used to come over all the time...you on your purple scooter! I remember us riding our bikes together, being friends up until elementary school...the Waterford school dances! All the fun we all had through jr. high and high school (even though you guys were at St. Joes)we all still were so close. My favorite childhood vacation was when my family and the Mena's and you went to Wildwood for the week. I remember you always coming to my mom's, every winter to plow her driveway, and then you coming to my new house to do mine (but you plowed my grass instead!)I'll never forget all of our lonnng talks we had every Friday at Rack's! You are the only person that I can honestly call a "life-long" friend. This tragedy didn't really hit me until I opened this website and saw your face. I will miss you very much. Now you and Ryan can be together again. Take care of each other. We all love you Kip...more than you knew.

I'm sorry to have read about the pasting of your son, brother, and friend. He was really loved life and was trying hard to change. Though he had only spent a little time with us, he will be sadly missed.

To the Miller Family(and Kip, I know you can hear me). I am extremely sorry about the loss. Every time I seen him it was like we were kids again. We would laugh about the old Assumption days, riding bikes everyday after school, and Halloween at Parvon St. Park. The memories I have of Kip are endless, and I know I will miss him everyday. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Joe Schafer

To the Miller family,
Our hearts are saddened from th loss of such a great son, brother, and friend. The memories of Kip will never be forgotten. He was always the one to give advice and to make you smile when things got tough. Kip, along with Jay, Branden, and Adam seem to be like a son to our family and a brother to me,when Gene wasnt around (to scare the boys away) To Kip:Thank you for all the good times and smiles, you will always be in our hearts.~Mariel~
