Obituary of Dorothea Z. Hommel

Dorothea Zyfers Hommel, December 12, 1927 - October 15, 2009, passed away peacefully in the Berlin Hospital, Berlin, NJ. Dorothea was born in New York City, grew up in Metuchen, NJ and raised her family in Princeton, NJ. She received her BA from Douglass College at Rutgers University and her Masters from New York University. After school Dorothea first worked as a translator at Foreign Bondholders in New York City. Early in her career Dorothea worked at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. She later worked for the Department of Higher Education in Trenton, NJ. She is survived by her four daughters and one granddaughter. Dorothea will be greatly missed by her friends and family as she was an exceptional human being. A gathering of family and friends will be held in Glen Ridge, NJ at 12 noon on Saturday October 24th. Please call 240-223-7367 for further information.
