Obituary of Robert Maccarella

Robert Maccarella On August 20th Robert lost his long and courageous battle with numerous health issues. He was brave and determined to keep moving forward in spite of insurmountable odds. The angels whispered to him to come home, its time to rest. He gently departed our world surrounded by his loving family. Robert was raised in Waterford and graduated from Edgewood Regional High School. He successfully received a Bachelors degree from Temple University in Design and Drafting. He married his high school sweetheart Barbara and settled in Berlin, NJ. Robert enjoyed many hours bird watching and feeding the wildlife. What brought a twinkle to his eyes most, was spending time fishing and boating with his father-in-law, John Goonan on Long Beach Island. Robert leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Barbara and his special lady Grace, his mother. He is predeceased by his father, Carmen. He is survived by his brother Carmen and his wife Florence, brother Anthony and his wife Diane, sister Gloria Ammirato and husband Salvatore, sister Sandy Baldt, friend and mother-in-law Edna Goonan and extraordinary nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing at Roberts request. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthonys RC Church, Pennington Ave., Waterford on Saturday. August 27th. The mass will begin precisely at 10:00am and a receiving line to greet family and friends will follow the mass. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity in memory of Robert would be appreciated.
