The Burrs' posted a condolence
We would like to send our condulences to Berts' family. Bert was out neightbor for 18 yrs.; she was always so kind to us. Bert was like part of our family, (my extended family also enjoyed her company. They would always ask how shes doing whenever we vsited them) and they too, were very sorry to hear she had passed on.
We've been through a lot with Bert. She'd share a lot of our family times together with us. Coming to the girl's birthday parties and dance recitals. Being there for one another just to talk or listen, and always lending a hand when i needed someone to watch the kids; she would always help out. With my family living so far away, it was nice that i could feel comfortable leaving them with her.
Bert also came to the hospital with us, when Rachel was born. Staying with Rebekah in the waiting room and than coming in to see Rachel right after she was born.
She helped us in many ways and I'm pretty sure that we were there for her as much as she was there for us. It was a pleasure to have known her, we have so many memories with her and I am so glad we do. We will keep those memories with us always.
One last thing I'd like to share is something my daughter Rebekah (almost 16 yrs. old now) used to say when we first started talking about moving. She was about five or six years old and we had started looking at houses. One day she came up to me and said "mom, what about Bert? Is Bert going to come with us when we move?" I heard this quite often from Rebekah. It wasn't just a one time statement. Bert was like a third grandmother to Rebekah and also Rachel, when she was born. WE loved her, and we will miss her so so much!!
