I MET CHARLES IN 1983 AT MULLICA HILL FRIENDS SCHOOL. I CRACKED A JOKE AT HIS EXSPENSE AND HE CALLED ME OUT. I COULD NOT PUNK OUT BUT I THOUGHT TO MYSELF HE IS KIND OF BIG. I WENT TO THE PRINCIPAL AT SCHOOL AND WORKED OUT A DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION WITHOUT CHARLES KNOWING. A GUY I WAS GOING TO FIGHT BECAME ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS. WE RODE MOPEDS AND THEN TIO CARLOS (UNCLE CHARLES) GOT HIS RED NOVA. WE WENT EVERYWHERE IN THAT CAR. WELL FRONT STREET AND WILDWOOD. THEN TIO GOT THE CAMARO Z28. AND MORE TRIPS TO WILDWOOD. 3 TIMES A WEEK HE WOULD DRIVE TO WASH TWP TO PICK ME UP AND WE WOULD GO OUT. WHEN MY FAMILY TURNED THEIR BACKS ON ME, GOD GAVE ME A GREAT FRIEND TO HELP ME THROUGH THE HARD TIMES. I KNOW THAT IF I EVER NEEDED HELP I COULD CALL CHARLES AND HE WOULD BE RIGHT BY MY SIDE. HIS FRIENDSHIP WAS A GIFT FROM GOD. HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST GUYS I EVER MET. I FEEL LIKE A PART OF MY HEART IS MISSING. THIS GUY HELPED ALOT OF PEOPLE. HE HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND A GREAT HEART. AND HE HAD A GREAT ABILITY TO MAKE YOU LAUGH. I HAVE ONLY GOOD MEMORIES OF AN OLD FRIEND I WILL TRULY MISS.

Very saddened to hear of this great loss. Many great times shared so long ago, but still so fresh in our hearts. Charlie was truely a special person, so gentle, so caring, so sweet. I'm glad I got the chance to know him.
