Obituary of Ellene Margaret Pfiester

Ellene Margaret Pfiester (nee Normile) age 96, Beloved wife of the late Walter Eugene Pfiester, Sr., died April 8, 2007, at her new home in Lorton, Virginia, with her loving daughter at her side.Formerly of The Fountains at Cedar Parke, Atco, NJ. Mrs. Pfiester was born in Philadelphia, graduated from Girls High, married in Philadelphia, moved to Merchantville, NJ and later to Pennsauken, NJ.She is survived by three children Walter Eugene Pfiester and his wife Catherine of Tully NY, Mary-Ellen Pfiester of Woodbridge VA,and Henry E. Pfiester and his wife Carol of Pahrump, NV, three grandchildren Catherine Tyler and her husband Ari Jordon of McLean, VA, Karl Gnadt of Seoul Korea and Woodbridge VA,and Christine Pfiester and her husband Bob Tanchek of Syracuse NY,two great-grandchildren, Michelle Tanchek and Sophia May Seman, a sisterand brother-in-law Marion and John Miritello of Gurnee IL, and a large family of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pfiester was a graduate of Girls High, Philadelphia. She retired after raising three children and foster-children John Stephany, Sherry Cronk, and after working in retail followed by 7 years as a mortgage loan investigator. She was a world traveler and avid bridge player.She volunteered her time in support of the Pennsauken First Aid Squad, Womens Lions Club and Literacy Volunteers of America. A member of The Church of the Assumption, Atco, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday April 13, 9:30 am to 10:30 am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ, followed byFuneral Mass 11:00 amat Church of the Assumption, 318 Carl Hasselhan Drive, Atco, NJ, 08004. Internment at 1:30 pm will be at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 4268 Richmond St., Philadelphia, PA, followed by areception. In lieu of flowers the family requests and prefers that donations be made to theJohns Hopkins Alzheimers Research, in memory of Ellene Pfiester, or donations of Mass Cards, inEllene Pfiesters memory, to be given to the family.
