Obituary of Barbara Anne Brier

Barbara Anne Brier Barbara Anne Brier, 64, of Marlton, NJ died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, after a long battle with lung cancer. She was a longtime resident of the Neptune-Asbury Park, NJ area. Educated in the Asbury Park school system, Barbara immediately began her career as a nurses aide. She worked for many years at the Salvation Army Retired Officers Home in Asbury Park until they closed and retired early from the Grove Nursing Home in Neptune, NJ due to a debilitating back condition. Devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Barbara was a caring person. She opened her home to anyone in need often adopting several children along the way. Her greatest love in life was her family and friends. In 2005, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She moved in with her eldest son, Troy and daughter-in-law Robin, who tenderly and lovingly cared for her until her death. Barbara was predeceased by her infant son, Lonnie C. Brier and her sister Alliene Mae Shane. She will be dearly missed by her only surviving sibling, Albion C. Brier, Jr., Tampa, FL, her eldest son, Troy and daughter-in-law Robin L., Marlton; Anthony and daughter-in-law Edith Stovall , Long Branch; Yvonne Harris and Tracey Riller-Givens and son-in-law Jeffery Givens, Upper Marlboro, MD; 11 grandchildren, a devoted niece, Marilyn Shane and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856) 767-0539. A second viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00am to 11:00am at the St. Augustine Episcopal Church, Prospect Ave. and Atlantic Ave., Asbury Park, NJ. Services will begin at 11:00am. Interment, Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls, NJ. Arrangements under the direction of the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, Atco, NJ.
