Obituary of Thelma O. Kearney

Thelma O. Kearney (nee Watson) Of Pennsauken, NJ, age 85yrs. On June 8, 2007 Thelma went home to be with the Lord. She was the devoted wife of the late Asa Kearney for 56yrs. Mrs. Kearney is survived by a son; Chet L. Kearney, 2 grandchildren; Sable and Joshua Dickinson, an aunt; Lucille Goodman, 2 nieces; Barbara Thompson and Marsha Lorick, 4 nephews; Asa, Vernon and Curtis Thompson and Reginald Kearney, and 5 cousins; The Honorable Mayor Gwendolyn Faison, The Honorable Judge James Faison, Craven Goodman, Dawn Carter and Sally Harvey. She was preceded in death by a brother; John Watson. Mrs. Kearney was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Adeste Fidelis Chapter 45, as well as a member of the Cyreens. She also served as Past Most Ancient Matron of the Heroines of Jericho. The funeral service for Mrs. Kearney will begin at 11am on Wednesday, June 13, 2007at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1198 Penn St., Camden, NJ. A viewing will be held from 9am to 11am at the church. Interment will follow at Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Kearney may be sent to the Purple Heart Service Foundation, PO Box 9618, Washington, DC 20077-7388.
