Obituary of Elizabeth B. Williams

Elizabeth B. Williams Sadly and unexpectedly left this world on Wednesday, August 15th, 2007. Bette, as she was known by most, is survived by her daughters, Debbie Williams of Illinois and Jennifer Williams of Maryland, her nieces Elizabeth Robertson (John), Jackie Vorhauer and cousin Barbara Brooks. Bette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Air Force Major Frederick Erin Williams and her parents Darwin (of Woodbury) and Elizabeth (of Mullica Hill) Badertscher. Since 1983, Bette worked in the Central Forwarding System Unit of the U.S. Postal Service, South Jersey Distribution Center in Bellmawr, New Jersey. She was proud to have been voted by her colleagues to receive The Most Dedicated Worker award. Bette may have been diminutive in size, but not in spirit and was always active and interested in all aspects of life. She loved art galleries, theater, reading, traveling and hiking. She was always willing to try new and unusual things. Last year, at the age of 75, on a visit with family in Maine, she took up kayaking. Bette loved Chicago, and when in Illinois visiting with her daughter, made many enjoyable trips into the city. Other favorite places included Starved Rock State Park in Illinois and Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. Bette viewed things, events and people with openness. She was able to look past anyones shortcomings and see the good in them. She was soft-spoken and took great delight in life. Bette dearly loved her friends and family, thinking of their comfort and happiness first and not of her own. These are the gifts that Bette so willingly and gladly gave to us all. Let us all be so lucky to take such delight in life. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Bettes favorite cause, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.
