Steven M. Marino
Steven was born on Dec 16, 1981 and returned to the Lord on March 11, 2008, at the age of 26. He grew up in Berlin, NJ and attended Berlin Elementary, then went on to play football while attending Eastern High School. He also participated in many township sport teams and traveling teams. He was extremely active with the Boy Scouts in his younger years. He relocated to Florida and graduated in 2000 from Sumter High School. Steven received a Heart Transplant at the age of 17 and has fought courageously to overcome the obstacles that were placed in his life path. One dream he pursued was his education in Criminal Justice, he graduated and became a Corrections Officer at the state prison in Florida.
Steven is survived by his beloved father and step mother, Steve and Anna Marino of Blue Anchor, NJ. His mother and step-father Lois and John Horton of Jonesboro, GA. His loving grandfather Carmen and wife Sharon of Dubuque, IA, his godmother and aunt Donna Marino of Mt Laurel, his aunt Lisa and uncle Greg Merrell of Marlton, NJ. He is also survived by his loving cousins, Danny and Brittany Merrell; step-sisters Maria and Gabrielle Fitzpatrick. Steven has many other relatives residing in Florida, especially devoted Nevan Long. He is predeceased by his grandmother Helen Marino (Finnegan).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial honoring his life at 10 am, followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthonys RC Church, 436 Pennington Ave, Waterford, NJ. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Stevens name may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 1053 North Orlando Avenue, Suite 1, Maitland, Fl 32751.
