My memories of Funzi go back quite a few years. He never hesitated to go to Jefferson Hospital to give my first husband(Larry Walsh) a haircut. and although he was unable to ride the elevator, he walked up all fourteen flights of steps. He also cut my son's hair for free because of our heavy medical expenses.I will always rmember his cheerful smile and great sense of humor.Funzi will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. I am very, very sorry to hear that Funzi has left us.
I grew up in West Berlin and knew Funzi, and the entire Caporelli family, my entire life. They lived two blocks down the street.
Funzi's Barber Shop, like Rizzi's, Melvin's, Nardi's, and DeRogatis', was a West Berlin landmarks.
Funzi gave my son, Keith, his very first haircut. Keith will be 44 in July. How ironic, that years later Keith would play cards with Funzi at the West Berlin Bocce club.
I have moved from the area and I deeply regret that I am unable to personally convey my condolences and deepest regrets to the Caporelli family and I hope that they understand.
I want the Caporelli family to know that I am thinking about them and I pray that God will comfort them in this time of deep sorrow.

I will keep your family in my prayers. Funzi was such a fun loving and wonderful man. Tom and I when we had the deli across the street from the barbershop got to see and know him quite well. He will be missed.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the man who died. Rather we should thank God that such a man lived.
