Obituary of Geraldine D. Hoover

Geraldine D. Hoover (nee Willetts) age 87yrs died peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2008. She was the devoted wife of the late John R. Hoover for 48 years. She was born in Turtle Creek, PA to Thomas and Nina (nee Coddington) Willetts on January 22, 1921. She grew up in Western PA, Maryland and W. Virginia. She attended Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD. Upon graduation, she moved to Baltimore, MD, and worked for the Bendix Radio Corp., where she met her husband. They married on July 22, 1948, and raised their family in Baltimore until they moved to Cherry Hill, NJ, in 1964. She and her husband retired to Lancaster, PA in 1986, until Johns death in 1996. She returned to South Jersey in 1998 to be closer to her family. She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Hoover of Seattle, WA, William C. Hoover and his wife Jane of McLean, VA., J. Craig Hoover and his wife Tina of Sicklerville, Charles G. Hoover and his wife Teresa of Collingswood and Kenneth S. Hoover, D.M.D and his wife Deborah of Medford, NJ. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas W. Willetts, D.D.S. of Parkton, MD. She was the greatest of Grandmothers to 13 loving grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by very many family members and friends. A Memorial service that will honor her life will be held at the St. Peters Episcopal Church, 1 Hartford Rd., Medford, NJ on Friday, September 19th at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either The Smile Train, 41 Madison Ave., 28th Floor, New York, NY 10010 or to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
