Obituary of Charles A. Maimone

Charles A. MaimoneOn January 2, 2009 of Atco, NJ, age 91yrs. Beloved husband of 66 years to Margaret (nee Caracciolo). Devoted father of Frank Maimone and his wife Linda of Voorhees, Charles Maimone and his wife Andrea of Atco, Maria Reed of Atco and the late Joann Ostrander. Brother of Jean Jones of Hammonton. Loving grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 6. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Gary Reed of Berlin. Mr. Maimone was born and raised in Hammonton, NJ. He was a member of the Class of 1935, Hammonton High School. In 1942 Charles was inducted into the US Army where he proudly served until 1946 after obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He moved to Atco in 1948. Mr. Maimone owned and operated Maimone Jewelry Store in Atco for over 22yrs and excelled as a watchmaker. He also worked as a Mail Carrier for the Atco Post Office from 1960 to 1983. After retiring from the Post Office he worked part time as a Toll Taker at the AC Expressway from 1984 to 2002. Charles was a member 3rd Degree Knight, Santa Marie Council #1443, Haddon Hts., NJ and a member of VFW ANMAC Post 6253, Berlin, NJ. He was extremely dedicated to the Assumption RC Church where he was a member and Usher since 1948. Charles was also a member of the Atco Senior Citizens Club since 1985. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday morning 9:00am to 10:45am at the Assumption RC Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ 08004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
