Obituary of Albert F. Daniels

Of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on January 25, 2009 at the age of 81yrs. Albert was born at the family home on Third St. in Blue Anchor on April 28, 1927 to Helen Daniels and Frank J. Daniels where he lived and worked until retiring in 2004 to Hammonton. Albert was the beloved husband of the late Ruth C. Daniels. He is survived by his son, Albert F. Daniels, Jr. of Hammonton, a daughter Kathleen R. Johnson and her husband David K. Johnson of Deerfield, Massachusetts; his sister, Doris Schultz and her husband Arthur Schultz of Buxton, North Carolina; and five grandchildren, Lauren Daniels Bagnell, Albert Daniels, III, Gina Daniels, Sarah Johnson and Laura Johnson. Albert was a respected business owner, employer and friend. His business, Albert F. Daniels' Cedar Fence, Inc. was established in 1907 by his father, Frank Daniels. His business was located (and continues operation) on Third St. in Blue Anchor. Albert was actively involved in the community as President and Member of the Winslow Township Planning Board, Member of the Winslow Township Dispute Committee, Member of the St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church in Blue Anchor, and many other local organizations. He was also a World War II Veteran, having served aboard the APA #20 President Hayes in the Pacific Theatre and honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1946. He maintained a lifetime membership to the Sampson WWII Naval Veterans Organization. Albert took an avid interest in boxing and served on the Boxing Commission of the NJ State Athlete Control Board, a position appointed by the Governor of NJ. His hobbies included baseball and the history of the US Civil War. Albert will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, patience, generosity and gentle nature. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation with the family on Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am at the St. Lucy's RC Church, Rt. 73, Blue Anchor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cedar Brook, NJ.
