Obituary of William R. Buck
Age 85 of Atco, NJ, passed away on February 27, 2010. Born and raised in Broomes Island, Maryland, he moved to New Jersey in the 1950's and worked for many years at CertainTeed in Berlin as an electrician and maintenance supervisor. He proudly served his country in the Pacific during WW II with the US Army Amphibious Forces, Company C, 692nd Engineer Special Shop Battalion.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pearl Elizabeth (nee Larson), his brothers Odie C. Buck and John LeRoy Buck, and his sister Doris Mae Wood. He is survived by his son, L. Steven Buck (Cheryl), his daughter, Judith E. Delessio, grandsons Jason M. Delessio (Chrissy), Jeffrey S. Delessio (Jacqui), and Evan Fleming-Buck, and granddaughter, Meaghan Fleming-Buck. He is also survived by sisters Margaret Jett and Irene Fowler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856)767-0539. Funeral services will begin at 12:00noon. Entombment at the Greenmount Mausoleum, Hammonton, NJ will be private. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in William's memory to the American Cancer Society www.americancancersociety.org.
