Obituary of George B. Youngkin
George Bernard Youngkin
On December 22, 2013, the Lord called George home. George was born on October 23, 1931 to Anna and Bernard Youngkin. He was the oldest of six children, grew up in Philadelphia and moved to NJ in 1950, after graduating from John M Bartram High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean War. George has resided in Atco, NJ for the last 26 years. He was a member of the Atco United Presbyterian Church and retired from Amtrak of Philadelphia in 1996.
George leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Judi, his son George and wife Nancy Youngkin, his five step-daughters, Judi and her husband David Dowell, Ruth and her husband Chuck Berwick, Brenda and her husband Brian Banes, Diana and her husband Lew Hicks and Tracy Tapper. He also leaves his brothers Bob & Charlie, sister Sissy, 21 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 brothers, Billy and Skip, his son Mark Youngkin and his step-son David Tapper.
A viewing will be held at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ on Friday, December 27, 2013, 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Atco United Presbyterian Church, 2259 Atco Avenue, Atco, NJ at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Friends and family are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Atco Cemetery. Flowers or contributions to the Atco United Presbyterian Church Faith Fund, 2259 Atco Ave., Atco, NJ 08004 would be appreciated.
