Obituary of James E. Dutton

James E. Dutton, Sr. age 80 years of Tansboro, NJ passed away on January 1, 2014 at Vitas hospice, Stratford, NJ. Born in Ashland, NJ, he is pre deceased by his parents, James V. and Josephine (nee Benzenhofer). He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann (nee Sharp), his son, James E. Dutton, Jr. and his wife Peg of Vineland and a daughter, Robin Boyle and her husband Ed of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by his step children, Debra Shaw-Blemings of Atco, Barbara Shaw-Barclay of Berlin and Ralph Shaw, Jr. and his wife Mary of Atco. Also surviving is his sister, Laverna Connors and her husband Tom of Little Falls, NJ. He is the grandfather of Cheryl A. Dutton, Christine M. (Dutton) Petrosky, Edward M. Boyle, Jr., Brian M. Boyle, Cory (Shaw) Turner, Tara Shaw, Dallas Blemings, Dakota Blemings, Joshua Barclay and Justin Barclay. along with 6 Great Grandchildren. Jim was a Past Fire Chief of the Ashland Fire Dept. #2, Cherry Hill, NJ. He joined the company at the age of 21. He was also a member of the Camden County Chief's Association, Former NJ National Guardsman and was the Past Commodore of the Sweetwater Yacht Club. As the Owner of Ashland Windowland in Voorhees, he was a member of the NJ Remodelers Association. He also enjoyed his memberships at the Lacy Twp. Elks and the American Legion Post #311. Along with the civic organizations that he belonged to, he was also a Trustee for the Tansboro Trinity United Methodist Church and was a school bus driver for the Winslow Twp,., Board of Education. Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Dutton's viewing on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004 with a service to follow at 8:00pm. A Memorial service celebrated by Pastor, Rev. Wesley Hawk will be held on Wednesday morning, at 10:30am at the Tansboro Trinity United Methodist Church 438 Rt. 561, Tansboro, NJ 08004, where the family will begin greeting friends at 10:00am. Interment will be private. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church at the above address.
