I don't know where to begin to describe what type of person she was. I was 4 years old when I first met her. Back then we all lived in a small apartment. She came to America to start a new life away from India. Over there she was living her life as a widow because my nana past away a long time ago. She was also living poor because my nana left nothing for her. She was in her late 50's but she had the energy of a teenager. She would wake up early everyday, take care of the cooking and cleaning. Most important she would take care of me. She used to make my favorite food, take me out to the park, stay up with me in the library. She also taught never to fear anything. She also taught me to never think less of myself. Back then I didn't know how to speak my native language, she taught me that secretly. I didn't have many friends, so she became my friend. I used to sleep in her room and tell secrets and stories at night. I really do miss her, but I'm glad she doesn't suffer. Thank you nani.
