Obituary of George Ronald Goebel

George R. Goebel, 70, of Atco went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia Goebel, (nee McGuigan), devoted father of Margaret (Rob) Morelli, G. Scott (Amy) Goebel, & Robin (Brian) Afroilan. Adoring Poppop of Christopher, Vanessa, Anthony, Kaeli, Haley, Aimee, Alissa, Stephen, Joshua, & George. loving great-grandpop of Liam, Lilliana & Areise. George also leaves behind his brother, Mark E. Goebel and his sisters, Roselyn Mahoney, Kathleen Cure & Cheryl Fecura. He is predeceased by his son, Stephen and granddaughter Jenna. George served proudly in the US Army for 22 years, which included 3 tours in Vietnam. He also devoted 22 years at Ft. Dix / McGuire AFB to civil service as a wrecker operator, always giving above and beyond the requirements of the job. Family and friends are invited to attend George's Viewing on Tuesday May 27, 2014 from 7-9PM and again on Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 9-10AM, Service to follow at 10AM at the Friendship Community Church, 601 Berlin -Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville NJ. Burial to follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery.
