Obituary of Donald J Hobbs

Donald J. Hobbs, 78, of Girard, formerly of New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Saturday April 25, 2015. He was born February 4, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Albert and Edna Huber Hobbs. Donald was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and a retired self-employed electrical contractor. Donald attended St. Rose Church, was a member of the Moose Club and Square Circle. He was a musician, a former boxer and enjoyed hunting. Devoted father of Dawn Anne Lunn, Barbara (William) Shappell, Kristin Santore, Donald (JoAnne) Hobbs, and Danielle (Shannon) Mealey; Loving grandfather of Erica, Brittany, Shawna, Matthew (Marianne), Christopher, Donald, Lauren, Breanna, Taylor, Patrick, Rylee and great grandfather of Alexia, Silas, Lily and Christopher; Dear brother of Kathleen (Robert) Hobbs-Jordan, Betty Gavin and the late Jack Hobbs; Also survived by his companion, Betty Manente, and her children Lisa Manente and Greg (Sheri) Manente. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 6 to 8PM at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike in Atco, where a memorial service will be held at 8 PM. Interment will be private.
