Obituary of Dhiraj Mody

Dhiraj S. Mody, 80, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born on March 28, 1935 in Bombay, India, one of 4 sons and a daughter to the late Shantilal and Ambaben Mody. He moved to the United States in 1958, earned his Masters of Science Degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and started a family two years later. Dhiraj ("Raj") worked for 28 years (1967 to 1995) at Whitehall Laboratories in the Research and Development group in Hammonton. He was an active and committed member of the Hammonton Lions Club, where he served in many leadership capacities including President and Deputy District Governor. Raj enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling abroad and playing cards either in Atlantic City or Las Vegas. He was a loving husband, a caring father, a dedicated grandfather, a loyal friend, and a kind man. He was always so proud of his children and grandchildren who will forever hold a special place in their hearts for him. Words cannot express the depth of sorrow; however we will all greet him again one day. Raj lived his life to the fullest every day and we will always celebrate his memory. Raj was survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Priti, his three children: Samir (Gail), Tarak, Aemi Kenselaar (Ken); six adorable grandchildren: Briana (22), Carly (17), Alison (17), Kyle (15), Adam (11), and Lauren (11); his brothers and sister, Ramesh, Nalin (Pushpa), and Vasant and many family members back home in Mumbai. He will be eternally missed, always loved and remembered. Family and Friends may gather on Thursday May 28, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory; 441 North White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ.
