Obituary of Ralph E. De Leon
Ralph De Leon, 85, of Mt. Laurel, passed away on July 1, 2015. He was the husband of Irene Buchwald, his wife of 53 years.
Born on July 13, 1929, in Chicago. He was the son of the late Raphael De Leon and Mildred Harris. Ralph attended Northwestern University and worked in the jewelry business for 60 years.
He served his country in the US Army during WWII and in the Merchant Marines, which he joined when he was 15 years old. Ralph was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he dedicated countless hours advocating for the welfare of our servicemen. Ralph enjoyed traveling abroad, boating and playing pinochle.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Kathleen Lundeen and Gayle Morelli and her husband Anthony; seven grandchildren; Eric Lundeen, Paul Lundeen and his wife Teresa, Kevin Lundeen, Jill Lundeen, Anthony Morelli, Henry Morelli and Clare Morrelli; nieces; Laureen Walsh and her husband Patrick and Linda Durham and partner Charlie Fields; nephew, Michael Durham; great grandchildren: Braeden, James, Lily and Quinn; great nieces: Melissa Hoffman and her husband Dustin and Heather Brincks and her husband Todd and their families.
His beloved sister, Alice Marie Durham and sister in law, Alice Buchwald perceded him in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 11 to 12 PM at the St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Road in Marlton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 PM. Entombment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr. A speical thank you to the Samaritan Hospice for their support.
