Obituary of Donald F. McCauley
Donald F. McCauley, Sr., 90, passed away on October 17, 2015 in Cherry Hill, NJ following a brief illness.
He is survived by his five children: Kathleen Connor of Cherry Hill, NJ, Donald F. McCauley, Jr., of Chapel Hill, NC, Janet Raffa of Hammonton, NJ, Robert McCauley of Northport, NY and Joan McCauley of The Woodlands, TX. He is also survived by his beloved 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, as well as his brother, John McCauley of California and his dear cousin, Ginny Bradley of Albertson, NY.
Don was born on July 19, 1925 in Flushing, NY. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1943, served as a counter intelligence investigator in the United States Army Air Corps and then earned his college degree from Clarke University. He was employed for many years as a manufactures representative in the shoe industry.
Politics and sports were Don's lifelong interests. He was an active member of the Garden City Republican Club. As a coach of Garden City youth football and baseball, he helped to elevate these organizations to a new level of excellence.
Following his retirement to North Carolina, Don became an avid golfer. He continued to expand his knowledge through computer learning and his love of reading.
