Obituary of Hattie L Harris

Hattie L Harris, age 86, passed away at Vitas Healthcare, Stratford, NJ on the 21st day of May 2016. Born in Wilson County, NC, Hattie grew up in Rocky Mount, Nash County NC, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She worked as a housekeeper until her marriage to Zebulum Harris, Sr. on the 18th of June 1952. Hattie and Zebulum Harris, SR. moved to Philadelphia PA. There they raised three children and enjoyed a strong marital bond until Zebulum SR death on the 19th of July, 1994. Hattie became a baptized member of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 30th, 1957, where she remained active and strong in the faith until her death. Survivors include: 1 son, Zebulum Harris, Jr. (wife Terri), 2 daughters, Judy C. Harris and Suzanne Harris, and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Hattie was the last of the Leaphart siblings whose names are: James F Leaphart, Jr., Robert L Leaphart, John T Leaphart, Sophie M Leaphart, Eldridge Leaphart, Arbrey E Leaphart, and Earl S Leaphart. A viewing for Hattie will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a service to follow at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 26 Chestnut Ave., Berlin, NJ 08009.
