Larger than life. That is the words and the place that is held in my memory. I will always be thankful that he is my Godfather and I, his Godson. I remember as a child waiting for him to arrive for those summer reunions. I am thankful to be from the Malady family because summers were such joy. Everyone came home. It always seemed like he was last and with him came the completion of joy. Now we can have a grand time as a family was my only thought. He seemed to be full of joy, laughing and smiling. He would head to the lake with all us kids and it seemed like he was one of us. He was fun. He was brave and daring. He was a little reckless. What young boy didn't want to be like him? He was in the center of everything exciting and that was exciting. That is what Uncle Clarkie instilled in me, Be exciting. There are enough people in the world being cautious. We need more people pushing the limits. That example has served me well. I have now been in the Army for 31 years. I hold a fairly high position in the Special Operations community. Why? How? Because my Godfather taught me to be exciting. The difficult thing about death is you realize what you never told the special people in your life. The good thing about death is you get to choose what you let go of and what you hold onto. Larger than life. That is the words and the place that is held in my memory. Thanks Clark John Malady. I will always be proud of you.
