Obituary
Obituary of E. Christopher Harris
E. Christopher Harris of Galloway, NJ lost his courageous battle with cancer on January 4, 2017. Born in Pine Hill, NJ to Elwood and Lucille Harris, Chris graduated from Overbrook Regional High School in 1987, attended Camden County College, and ultimately graduated from Widener University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1993. While in high school and college, he worked at his family-run Pine Hill Hardware Store. Much of his career was in refinery and wastewater industries, including over twelve years with the Philadelphia Water Department and, most recently, as the Director of Wastewater with the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA). He was an active participant in many associations related to his field. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, being outdoors, and keeping physically fit through skiing, biking, running, and walking the Brigantine beach. Those who knew him best will remember his bright eyes, willingness for adventure, and upbeat sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his beloved daughter, Gracie Hope, and his wife of 19 years, Heather (nee Scargill). He is survived by his parents, Elwood Joseph and Lucille Harris, his brothers, Terry Harris (Nancy), Timothy Harris (Anne Marie), and sister, Lori Smith. Also surviving are his nephews and nieces including Terry Harris (Debbie), Christopher Harris (Leigh Anne), Jennifer Harris (Nathan), Chelsea Harris, Kylie Harris, and Tristan Smith. Chris also had a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and childhood friends who were like family.
Family & friends are invited to attend Chris' visitation on Monday, January 9th from 5pm-7pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A funeral service will follow. Interment is being held privately to the family. For more information or to e-mail a condolence, please visit www.lpwoosterfuneralhome.com.
