Obituary of Paras J Kothari

In Loving Memory Of: Paras J. Kothari 12/02/1961 – 02/15/2017 Paras Jaykar Kothari, 55, of Blackwood, New Jersey, passed away, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 5:13 PM at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. Paras had a pre-existing condition known as ulcerative colitis: which he had been treated for many years. Medication eventually led him to become a Type II diabetic patient. Eventually, he was diagnosed with Stage IV Signet-Ring cell carcinoma of the colon after undergoing a partial colectomy on October 21, 2016. Through recurrent infections and metastases of his cancer, Paras, ultimately passed as a result of severe Pneumonia which led to Septic Shock. After being put on life-support, Paras’ body was at war. Ultimately, Paras’ family was faced with a difficult decision in which they decided to end his pain and suffering, and let him go in peace until he took his last breath. Paras was born on December 02, 1961 in Rajkot, India to Jaykar Umedchand Kothari and Manharbala Jayantilal Doshi. At age 15, Paras and his siblings took on the responsibility of their father’s business (JU Kothari & Sons) which was a clearing and forwarding agency. Paras would go on his bike every day to the train station where freight trains carried luggage. Big businessmen would have supplies on these freight trains that needed to be delivered to their business. Paras helped flourish his father’s business and within four years completely turned the business on its head. The money was used for many fees associated with schooling. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Rajkot, India and J. J. Kundalia Commerce College where he received his Bachelor’s in Commerce in 1983. On March 1983, both of Paras’ parents and his younger sibling (Chetan Kothari) left India and came to the United States where Paras’ uncle (Harish Doshi) would try to help sponsor the rest of their family to come to the United States. Meanwhile, Paras took care of the family business. Finally, on Aug 11 1985, Paras and the rest of his younger siblings (Ashish Kothari, Vandana Shah) achieved sponsorship and set foot in the United States. On March 1988, Paras travelled back to India and married Mamta Dalichand Gandhi. Within a couple years, on May 08, 1991, Paras and Mamta would give birth to their first newborn son (Siddharth Kothari), and respectively, on June 12, 1992, their second newborn son (Raj Kothari). As Paras started making his own family, he worked many jobs along the way to help support them as much as possible. Medical Assistant w/ Dr. Ila Doshi, Associate/Manager at Cumberland Farms, Sales Manager at Sears, etc. Before passing, his final job would be as a Chief Optical Lab Technician w/ Yasgur Eye Associates where he met two of his best friends (Niru Dixit and Dr. Lee Yasgur). Paras believed that money is the key to any desire in life. His hobby revolved around the stock market. Paras could watch endless hours of the stock market and within time became a great market analyst. Everyone would come to Paras about advice in investing and he would always give the best advice in return. Paras also enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, and he always showed unconditional love. Paras will always remain with all of us, residing in our very existence and will continually guide us even when we feel he is not physically there. A straight forward and simple human-being, Paras has left us to be with God until we are ready to join him again. Rest in peace and may God bless your soul. Currently, Paras is survived by his wife Mamta Kothari, his two sons, Siddharth Kothari and Raj Kothari, his parents Jaykar Kothari and Manharbala Kothari, his two brothers, Ashish Kothari and Chetan Kothari, his sister, Vandana Shah, and many loving uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral Services for Paras will be at Leeroy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:30 PM EST to 6:30 PM EST. Paras will be cremated and his ashes will be taken by his sons back to India where they will be dispersed in the holy Ganges River.
