Obituary of Kenneth L Hudson

Kenneth L. Hudson, Jr. of Sicklerville NJ, passed away on April 20th, at the age of 69, after a long battle with cancer. He left this world with his wife of 40 years asleep by his side, holding his hand, just as he would have wanted. Ken was born on June 13th, 1947 to Kenneth (Red) and Mary Kay Hudson, in the small town of Hartsville, Tennessee. He joined the Coastguard in 1967, and spent 4 years in the service before moving to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1971. It was there that he met the love of his life, who he remained loyal and true to until his last breath. In 1976, he moved to NJ where he married his love, Beverly J. Evans, obtained a Master's degree in Geography, and had 2 beloved daughters. Ken worked for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2013. Ken loved the outdoors and enjoyed many fishing, camping, and sailing trips with his friends and family. He also was a history buff and eagerly engaged in any political or historical debate. He remained a "southern gentlemen" throughout his life. He will be missed for his logical, progressive, and optimistic outlook, his tolerance and kindness towards others, his willingness for self-sacrifice, and his eagerness to help. Ken is survived by his wife, Beverly Hudson, two daughters, Nicole Weatherhead (Dylan) and Lindsey Levato (Anthony), and his three grandchildren, Keegan, Payton, and Griffin. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Kenneth and Mary Kay Hudson, and brother, Freddy Hudson. Friends and family are invited to Ken's memorial visitation on Wednesday, April 26th from 4pm-5pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A celebration of life will follow as well as military honors. Cremation will be held private to the family.
