Obituary of David M. Algeri

After a courageous battle with cancer David M. Algeri, 48 went to be with his Lord on Sunday May 14, 2017. David is the husband of the love of his life, Jodi, whom he married in 1995. David is the father of Angelo, attending Temple University, Marla, attending Rider University, and Gina, a sophomore at Egg Harbor Township High School. David is survived by his parents, Harvey and Mary Algeri of Cleveland, Ohio. Also a brother Brian (Karen), a brother Chris (Amber), a sister Kate (Jerry), and seven nephews and nieces, all of Cleveland. David graduated from The Ohio State University in 1991 with a degree in Criminology. David then graduated from the Gloucester County Police Academy in 1997, he then worked for the Wildwood and Egg Harbor City Police Departments until he was employed by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department in 1999. During his career at the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, David served as Patrolman, Juvenile Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant in the Office of Professional Responsibility. David also spent an enormous amount of time involved in establishing and coordinating the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Gang Unit. David spent many years coaching the youth of Egg Harbor Township in Football, Baseball, and Soccer. Calling hours for David will be on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Fresh Start Church, 1049 Ocean Heights, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00pm on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow the services at the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
