Obituary of Gerald Charles Welker, Sr.
Gerald Charles "Jerry" Welker, Sr., age 77 yrs, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Cedar Brook, West Berlin and Pine, NJ passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry's family cordially invites everyone to join in celebrating his life on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Gerald Charles "Jerry" Welker, Sr., age 77 yrs., of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, previously of Cedar Brook, West Berlin and Pine Hill, NJ passed away peacefullyon April 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Charlotte Welker (McCaughey). He was the loving father of Madeline Elizabeth "Liz" Welsh (John) of Waterford Works, NJ, Gerald Charles "Jerry" Welker, Jr. (Dawn) of Houghton Lakes, MI and Linda Ann Dalton (Kevin) of Jupiter, FL. Jerry is survived by his loving and dear grandchildren Kyle, Brionna, Connor, Ashley, Kyra, Gerald III (Kali), Bailey, Brooke, Emma and great grandson Carter. He was a loving and dear brother to Robert Welker, Sr. (Ethel), Jack Welker (Shirley) and Ronald Welker (Mary Lou). He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerry grew up in Pine Hill and raised his family in West Berlin and Cedar Brook, NJ. He worked many years as a foreman in the grinding department at A.L. Hyde Company in Grenloch, NJ before retiring to Florida. Jerry served in the Army National Guard in the 1950's and recieved an honorable discharge. Jerry is fondly remembered as always having a smile on his face and being the sweetest and friendliest by everyone who met him. He never spoke a bad comment about anyone. He loved bowling, golfing, baseball/softball, swimming in the pool, watching sports on TV, especially wrestling and his family. He could entice almost everyone to scratch his back for quarters! He had a great sense of humor, always busting on someone, even up to the end. Jerry made a lifetime of wonderful memories with his family and friends and he will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 2:00pm on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, or Hospice of Palm Beach County.
