I was her friend from childhood on Kwajalein. She was always a kind-hearted and fun-loving friend and though we haven't seen each other for a long time, she has always remained in my heart. Just a couple of nights ago, my husband and I were looking at old slides from my father's collection and some of the first slides that popped up were of our basketball team. There was Cathy and me and many of our friends, including another friend Kim Kusler, who has also passed away. Though it was sad that two of this team have died, the photo brought great joy to see all our smiling faces and to remember the absolutely wonderful childhood we had on Kwajalein.
