Obituary of Jean B. Newhard

Jean B. Newhard (nee Berry), age 84 of Elm, formerly of Haddon Heights, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August 28, 2010. Mrs. Newhard was born in Camden, NJ and had been a longtime resident of Haddon Heights. Jean graduated from Haddon Heights High School, class of 1944 and worked as an IBM Operator at Smith, Kline & French in Philadelphia, PA. She married her class and soul mate Frank Newhard in December, 1946. Jean was active in the PTA and little league during her children's school years and loved spending time in her garden, crafting and playing bridge. She returned to work and worked as a receptionist for Dr. Donald Kimler, also in Haddon Heights. In their later years, Jean and her husband moved to Elm, where she became a member of the Elm Red Hat Society, made many friends and still loved tending her garden. A feisty but loveable, independent Wife, mother, grandmother and sister; Jean is the wife of the late Frank Newhard and is survived by her children Steven & his wife Louise Newhard, and daughter Cindy & her husband Michael Richards. She is the proud grandmother of Amanda and Jessica Newhard, Brian & his wife Krista and Scott & his wife Laura. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brother Frank Berry, her nieces and nephews and her faithful companion Molly. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday morning between 10:30 and 11:30 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home 441 White Horse Pike, Atco where a memorial and remembrance ceremony will begin at 11:30 am. Rev. Glen J. Clary, officiating. Internment will be held privately.
