Obituary of Mary R. Algado

Mary R. "Nanny" Algado (nee Steelman), age 96 of Sicklerville, passed away on Monday October 4, 2010 at The Fountains at Cedar Park in Atco. Mrs. Algado was born in Gloucester City and had been a longtime resident of Sicklerville. She had been a parishioner of St. Edwards Church in Pine Hill and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Mary began her career as a payroll clerk & business partner with her brother Les at Les' Arco in Maple Shade. She had also worked as a payroll clerk for Woolworth's in the Moorestown Mall for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Algado will fondly be remembered as a strong, independent lady who enjoyed sipping her tea while she would pass her time sewing, crocheting and knitting. She had made and gave many quilts to her family which they'll always treasure. Mary is the wife of the late Juan Algado. She is the mother of Rosita & her late husband Delbert Horner and John & Marianne Algado. Mary is the proud grandmother of Mary, Buster, Gina, the late Johnny, great-grandmother of Heather, Mark, Ella and great-great grandmother of Alyssa, Makaylee, Dayton and Isaac. Relatives and friends are invited to her Mary's viewing on Friday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home 441 White Horse Pike, Atco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Assumption Church 315 Carl Hasselhan Dr. Atco. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
