Obituary of Elisa M. Vargo
Elisa M. Vargo, 54, of Lawrence Township, NJ went peacefully home to the Lord on July 26, 2017.
Elisa (known as "Lisa") was born on May 21, 1963 in Fort Meade, Maryland. She was a lifelong resident of Atco, NJ and had moved to Lawrenceville, NJ.
Lisa graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Hammonton, NJ in 1981. She worked for Samuels and Son Seafood in Philadelphia, PA.
Lisa is remembered as a charitable, loving and thoughtful person. She loved animals especially her Jack Russell Terrier named Brandy. She loved her job, enjoyed laughing with friends and looked forward to going "down the shore".
She was predeceased by her beloved parents the late Elinore C. Vargo and Frank T. Vargo, Sr. and her sister, the late Elaine C. Long (nee Vargo). Lisa's love of God and Country was influenced by her parents, notably her father, who had served as a deacon at Assumption Parish in Atco, NJ. In addition, she was proud that her father had received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star, and the Bronze Star for service in the U.S. Army.
Lisa was the beloved niece of the late Sister Sylvestra (Mary) Vargo, OSBM, a member of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great and of Margaret Vargo, Josephine Shutz, Paul Vargo, John Vargo and Joseph Vargo.
She is survived by her brother, Frank T. Vargo, Jr. of New Mexico; and nephews: Frank T. Vargo III of Brigham City, Utah, Christopher J. Long of Haddonfield, NJ, Timothy M. Giacobbe of Williamstown, NJ, and nieces: LauraBeth Long McAllister of Barrington, NJ, and Bridget G. Vargo of Monroeville, PA. as well as many cousins and dear friends.
