Richard Scipione

Obituary of Richard Scipione

Walt Disney once said; "The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique." Richard Scipione, a kind, generous and funny man with the biggest heart, passed away on Sunday November 21, 2010 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin. Rich was born in Philadelphia but has resided in Atco for most of his life. Rich learned a strong work ethic from his father as a carpet installer. A trade passed down that would be his career for most of his life. He worked hard and played even harder. Rich loved fishing and spending time on his boat. He was an avid Eagles and NASCAR fan. He loved music and sang around the house, even making up his own lyrics as he went. Most of all he was a loving and dedicated father who shared a special bond with his children. Rich is the son of Rudolph & the late Edith (nee Gregg) Scipione. He survived by his wife of 11 years, Christine (nee Lentz) Scipione. He is the father of Christopher Scipione, Amanda Rowan and Donna Macri. Rich is the proud grandfather of Ryan Mathews and Aiden Macri. He is the brother of Nicholas, Michael, Cynthia, Kathleen Muff, Rudolph and the late Randolph Scipione. Relatives and friends are invited to Rich's visitation on Wednesday evening between 7 and 8 pm at the funeral Home where a memorial ceremony will be celebrated at 8:00 pm. Pastor Gary Brennan, officiating. Inurnment will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes, South Jersey Chapter 1415 Rt. 70 East, Suite 311, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
