Obituary of Shirley J. Diodato

Shirley J. Diodato (nee Harrison), age 75 of Atco, passed away on Friday November 19, 2010 at Vitas Hospice in Stratford. Mrs. Diodato was born in Philadelphia, PA and had been a longtime Atco resident. Early on she began working as a waitress but spent many years working as a Bindery Manager at Hamilton Press, Inc. in Berlin before retiring in 1994. Shirley had been a mummer and took part in the annual Philadelphia New Year's Parade in the Fancy Division. She was a member of the Winslow-Waterford Twp. VFW Post 303 Ladies Auxiliary in Sicklerville, the Lindenwold Moose Lodge and the Atco Senior Citizens. Shirley is the beloved wife of 36 years to Dominic Diodato of Atco. She is the loving mother of Colonel Dr. Robert E. & his wife Deborah Lyons, MD of TX, Joseph J. & his wife Linda Lyons of Mickelton, Marianne Bradshaw of Lindenwold, Jean Zaroff of Barrington, Dominic & his wife Aviva Diodato, Jr. of AZ, the late Curtis L. Lyons and the late Theresa Diodato. Mrs. Diodato is the proud grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 14. Shirley is the sister of Joseph J. & his wife Patricia Harrison, Jr. of Clementon, Dorothy Capodici of Pine Hill and the late Pauline Kline. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her furry little friends Peppy, Packo and Pierre' as well as her many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Shirley's life on her birthday, Saturday morning between 9 and 11 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home 441 White Horse Pike, Atco where a funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 am, Fr. Tom Barcellona officiating. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Animal Orphanage 421 Cooper Rd.
