Obituary of Joe T. Verble
Lost his battle with cancer on December 12, 2010 at the Fountains at Cedar Parke, Atco, New Jersey where he resided. Joe was born in Lufkin, Texas, July 29, 1924, the son of Maurine Thompson, and Joe H. Verble but spent most of his early life in San Antonio, Texas. He called Pennsauken, New Jersey home for over fifty years. Joe's college education was disrupted by World War II when he served in the US army for three years and studied Meteorology at Kenyon College, in Ohio. While there he attended a USO dance in Mt. Vernon, Ohio where luck struck and he met his beloved wife, Barbara Owen, with whom he spent the next 66 years. They were married in 1944 and after his discharge, Joe continued his education at Texas A&M graduating in 1949 as a proud Aggie. Following graduation, he headed to New Jersey to embark on his career that spanned more than 38 years as an electrical engineer at RCA, which later merged with General Electric. While working at RCA, Joe received his Master in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughter, Gail Carnal and son-in law Scott Carnal; daughter, Maurine Falcone and son-in law James Falcone Jr. and his grandsons James Falcone III and Andrew Falcone; daughter, Barbara Verble and son-in law Carl J. Williams and grandchildren Lauren Williams and Graham Williams; son, Joe O. Verble; a loved brother-in law, Bernard Owen; and the Texas nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Joe T. Verble will be held at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd. Haddonfield, New Jersey, Saturday June 18th. Meet the family at 10:00 am with the service following in the Sanctuary.
