Obituary
Obituary of Karin S. Mauger
If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a kind word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen. The best portion of a good life, is their little, nameless unremembered acts of kindness and love. A dedicated daughter, mother and grandmother Karin Mauger lived for her children. Karin was a homebody. Quietly, surrounded by the love of her family, she passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday January 11, 2011.
Born in Breman, Germany, Karin spent the very early part of her life in Germany. She and her family immigrated to the United States following the close of WWII in 1948. After 61 years in the United States Mrs. Mauger finally received Citizenship in 2009. She would say, "I'm a woman with no country." Karin had worked as a Teacher's Aide for Head Start in Landisville for 53 years. At home she loved to dance, to party and spend her quiet time crocheting. By the sea, by the sea by the beautiful sea she enjoyed taking day trips, spending time in Virginia and down the shore in New Gretna and Tuckerton fishing, crabbing & clamming.
Mrs. Mauger is survived by her mother Irma O'Donnell. She is the doting mother of Robert C., Richard G., Michael K., Karin R. Johnson and Bernadette J. Spangler. She is the proud grandmother of 7 and is also survived by her sister in law Laura Gable.
Mrs. Mauger will be laid to rest with her husband privately.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Irma O'Donnell C/O the funeral home P.O. Box 297 Atco, NJ 08004.
