Earl Wright

Obituary of Earl Everett Wright

We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds. To have lived well, laughed often and loved much, to have looked for the best in others and to have given the best of yourself. Earl E. Wright passed away on Thursday August 12, 2010 at Virtua Hospital, Voorhees. For 87 years Earl gave the best of himself. He faithfully gave and defended his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII where he participated in the battle at Rhineland. Mr. Wright was honorably discharged in 1946 and awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign medal, a Good Conduct medal and a WWII Victory Medal. Earl worked as a painter for Conrail in Philadelphia and had been a longtime member, giving his volunteer time to the Voorhees VFW Post 10116. He excelled at selling "Buddy's Poppy" which in turn funded rehabilitation and service programs for disabled American veterans. Earl was the jack of all trades, a Mr. Fix it. He loved tinkering and could always get things working. He loved going to yard sales and bargain shopping and was always sure to give out candy wherever he went. Finally, Mr. Wright gave unselfishly and entirely of himself and donated his remains to science at Mercer County Community College, Trenton. Mr. Wright was predeceased by his wife Veronica and is the father of Patricia Redman, Barbara Jean Ramsaran & Rhonda Wright. He is the step-father of Joseph Hale, Veronica Scott, William Hale, Jeanne Watson, the late James Fleckenstein, (the late) Kathleen Magee & (the late) Marianne Ligameri. Earle is also survived and will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside military tribute on Thursday at 12:30 pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
