Obituary of Neil D. DeAugustine
Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles; I've only gone to rest a little while. Neil D. DeAugustine, Sr., age 75, passed away on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford.
Neil was born in Philadelphia and had spent the early part of his life there before moving to Clementon NJ. He had worked at Clementon Lake Park and while operating the boat ride met a young lady who told her friend "Im gonna marry that guy". and she did. Over 54 years of marriage Marilyn and Neil made their home and raised their family in Lindenwold and spent the last 23 years in Atco. Mark Twain said "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest." Neil always did. He was a wonderful, giving, self made man who owned and operated Nelan Electric in Lindenwold and later Clementon for 36 years before retiring 10 years ago. He was an avid golfer, loved to cheer on the Phillies and Eagles and spend time at the race track. Neil was also known as "The Mantis" a pool shark who could hustle the best of them. At home, he loved to spend time cooking for his family, dancing around the kitchen with his wife and spend time reading and writing poetry.
Mr. DeAugustine is survived by his loving wife Marilyn A. (nee Meyers) DeAugustine. He is the father of Neil, Jr. & his wife Laura and Lynne & her husband Ron Rizzo. Neil is the proud grandfather of Neil, III, Nickolas and Jaimie DeAugustine,, Madison and Gina Rizzo and great grandfather of Angelina DeAugustine.
