Obituary of Willie Mae Brooks

Mrs. Willie Mae Brooks (ne: Jackson) was born in Mitchell County Georgia on January 14, 1914 and passed away on April 19, 2011 at the age of 97. She was the youngest child of Ketter and Katie Bell Jackson. Her two siblings Charlie and Ola Mae preceded her in death. She moved to Camden, NJ in the mid-fifties and married Calvin Brooks, deceased. Ms. Brooks attended public schools in Georgia and worked as a private duty nurse for a Collingswood, NJ family for many years. Her impaired eyesight eventually led to retirement. She was a long and faithful member of the Jehovah's Witnesses church having joined as a member in Erial, NJ in the early 1970's She leaves to mourn a son, Steven Newkirk and his family of Westville, NJ; a niece Jerusha Fuller of Atlanta, GA; and many loving great nieces , nephews and cousins, including Rita (ne:Newkirk) and Mahdi Ibn-Ziyad of Pennsauken, NJ, Andrew and Valerie Fuller of Clementon, NJ, Shelia Hameen and family of Baltimore, MD, John C. and M. Newkirk of Albany, GA and John Henry Fuller of Albany, NJ.
