Obituary
Obituary of Gary D. Mammucari
Sing me a simple melody, one with good old fashioned harmony, why don't you sing me a simple melody, like my mother sang to me. Like the great songs of Mario Lanza, Al Alberts and Al Martino; Gary Dennis Mammucari's song began in South Philadelphia on November 27, 1957. A beautiful life fondly remembered as a light and a joy who was a showman and the life of the party went on his way to Cape May during an early summer evening on May 31, 2011. He loved to sing and had performed locally as Gary Dennis performing hits of the 40's, Al Jolson and Johnny Ray numbers. He had been a mummer and participated in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade with the South Jersey String Band and performed at Moore's Inlet in North Wildwood alongside Cozy Morley and Mike Gallo. Early on Gary had worked as a Gibbsboro Police Officer then in 1988 opened a pizza shop at Moore's Inlet. Later he worked from his home in Sicklerville as a sales rep for Pitney Bowes in Stamford CT for 22 years. He also owned and operated a fork lift safety training company from 1989 to the present.
Gary is the son of the late Othello & Connie (nee Mezzatesta) Mammucari. He is survived by his sisters Pat & her husband Peter Temean and Carol & her husband Steven Magowan. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his loving companions Baxter & Jack and his God Children Wendy Sheetz and Joey Redden.
Relatives and friends are invited to the final Gary Dennis show on Saturday afternoon from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm where a funeral ceremony & musical tribute will be celebrated at 8:30 pm. Fr. Tom Barcellona, officiating. Curtain Call will be held Sunday morning from 11 am to 12 pm all at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home, Atco. Inurnment will be held privately.
